The lessees of Kowloon Inland Lots 1218 and

1220 purchased these lots originally at public auction, the

western boundaries being set back so as to allow a width of

60 feet for Portland Street. It was subsequently decided that

a width of 50 feet would be sufficient, and there is, thore-

-fore, no objection to the extensions show in green and yellow being granted at the same premium and Crown rent as was fixed in respect of the lots already purchased; but as regards the blue area, the lessees of Kowloon Inland Lot 1218 encroached and built on this area without permission, and they have therefore be required to pay premium at 81.20 a square foot, or double the rate charged for the yellow area. The Crow rent for the blue area will be at the same rate as that paid in respect of Kowloon Inland Lot

1218.

I have the honour to be,

My Lord,

Your Lordship's most obedient,

humble servant,

CandSevern

Officer Administering the Government.
